Introducing our March student spotlight, Sandra Faulkner! Sandra is piano student at the studio and is taught by Miss Vanessa. She is 49 years old and teaches at BGSU. Some of her hobbies include knitting, running, cooking, and playing with her 3 rescue dogs. Her favorite foods are kimchi, marzipan, and oysters, but NEVER all together! Sandra started playing the piano when she was 12 but stopped, only to resume years later at 45. Sandra also played the saxophone and bass clarinet in high school. Her favorite piece to play on piano was Chopin's Nocturne in C minor, but she also enjoys playing pieces by Satie and Beethoven. Sandra says that learning an instrument helps with discipline, but it also teaches you the connections between art and science. When asked to give fellow music students some advice, Sandra stated the following:
"My advice is to never say you can't and try playing things you think you can't. That is how you turn can't into can."

poem by Sandra herself!
