Overview:
This class is open to students who have little to no experience playing the guitar. The focus of the class is on developing technique, learning how to play notes and chords, as well as becoming familiar with basic musical notation. These fundamental skills will equip each student to be able to play simple melodies and strum chords to basic songs individually, as well as in a group.
Class Details (Dates, Tuition, Missed Classes):
The Intro to Guitar Class is an 8-week class, running from June 4th through July 30th, 2019 with no class on July 3rd. Classes meet once per week on Tuesdays for an hour. A minimum of 4 students must be registered in order to run the class, and a maximum of 10 students will be accepted. Registration must be done through The Studio Connection Front Desk or online, and will be accepted through May 25th, 2018. Class tuition is $125, a one-time payment by cash, check, or credit card, made no later than the end of the first class. No refunds will be given for missed classes. The instructor will reschedule any classes he may miss. Please call the studio at 419-419-3355 as early as possible on the day of the class, if you must miss a class. No books are necessary for purchase for the introductory class. After the class beginning students will have the option of continuing private lessons with the guitar instructor.
Expectations:
Students are required to practice daily at home. Weekly assignments will be given, and students must come properly prepared for each class. This is a fast paced course, so work at home is essential in order to stay on track with the class. Students must be responsible to bring their guitar, picks, tuner, and any additional materials provided by the instructor to every class.
Required Materials:
· Acoustic Guitar preferred (anyone with electric guitar must provide their own amp, bringing to class weekly)
Local Places for Guitars: Guitar Center Toledo, Heights Guitar Toledo
· Guitar Picks - at least 5
